  Disturbing Footnote in Tomorrow's Study Article...

  article is basicqlly about families where a spouse is working away from home for an extended period, etc...a foot note says basically that some studies have shown that working away from home can cause serious consequences, such as infidelity, homosexuality, or incest.

  this weeks km is telling elders to arrange for group studies with people in local nursing homes, with instructions on how to word things when speaking to the directors etc.. they are clearly trying to get to people who may not be entirely able to think for themselves or who may lack critical thinking and yet may have money to leave to them.. what can you do?.

  well, if you wanted to, write a short and simple letter or email to your local care home, perhaps directly even speak to the director yourself... warn them about the brainwashing and danger of breaking up of families etc.

  the km says they should identify themselves as jw's... .

  Bigmac, no toy throwing involved here. If you read the responses, the overall tone is 'not gonna happen' or 'I'm not worried'. That is what I was talking about, not the lack of posts. I guess it's no big deal, maybe I just care about elderly people and got a bit overhyped.
  I mean come on, I even wrote a letter and posted it as a template for others, not even one person has commented on it or thought it a good idea. Nothing I do makes any difference, but that's fine. Sorry to have annoyed you. Yeah, UK.

  Theists, why does God allow suffering..

  ..specifically, the suffering of animals.

  you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.

  i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

  How widespread is it, would you say, in your country?
  
  And yes, that is how it STARTS, according to the KM.
  Innocuous bible reading, my book of bible stories perhaps, then if someone has questions they are told to arrange a seperate individual Bible Study to answer them..away from the group.
  Some in our KH were talking about maybe holding studies with people in their rooms. Even if it was all done publicly, there will be plenty of elderly ones without clear thinking abilities who can be 'encouraged' to come to meetings, 'do more' and so on.
  The KM stated that one group had 20 people, and 1 got baptised, with 6 of them having Studies! That's roughly a third of that particular group of vulnerable people who were brainwashed, and one converted, because of something that likely started with bible stories and trivia.
  Ok, I give up. Nobody gives a damn, I get it..

  i just got back from the meeting (dont ask) and sat through the km article laying out plans to mass convert nursing homes all over the world.

  i am not going to labor the obvious ethical travesty of this plan but i will say that it constitutes a major public health risk.
